Heartland's Amazing Race camp is just what it sounds like, a truly amazing race. Based on the television show with the same name, campers get to participate in all the adventures, challenges and one of a kind experiences that are found in the show with the exception that each day is centered around growing in deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Days begins with a small group Bible study which moves into a day full of race challenges, which are planned and run by Heartland Staff and volunteers. The challenges reinforce the weeks theme and the day finishes with nightly worships. This race is a truly unique experience. Previous Amazing Races have shot t-shirt cannons in Tennessee, collaborated on scavenger hunts in Nebraska, and learned about the power of faith at Bloch Cancer Survivors Park in Kansas City. There is no telling what creative, challenging, and faith building experiences will be on this years version!

I was raised to have a relationship with Jesus, but it was never really MY relationship with Jesus until this summer during the month that contained Amazing Race camp, the TAG mission trip and Service Partnership camp. During these experiences, I grew a true and personal relationship with Jesus that I had never developed before, through the help of camp counselors, directors, and fellow campers.

Heartland firmly believes that the Church is God’s means of changing the world and that reaching and strengthening the next generation of the Church, through individuals and youth groups is a critical part of God’s work. We believe that the camp setting is specifically suited to building up young believers and those questioning what they believe.  By coming to a place set apart for the Lord, youth leave their technology, release the social pressures to fit in, and let down their walls allowing meaningful, Christ focused relationships to grow. We have consistently seen this result in lifelong friendships and community for campers that had been strangers at the beginning of the week. We are excited to provide that opportunity for your child or youth group, and we can't wait to see the Lord move in powerful ways!

I am a youth director at a church of 700 members. I feel camp is SO important because it supports what we do all year long with the youth in a week-long intentional Christian community. I find the experience that my youth get going to Heartland is an irreplaceable piece of the youth ministry program at our church... Our youth come back from the Amazing Race with a stronger faith that strengthens our entire youth ministry.
