“Morning Watch” is Heartland lingo for morning Bible study. Each morning we have set aside time for counselors to lead their campers in a morning lesson on the daily theme. They will explore stories of the Bible through games, questions, drawings, skits and time alone to think about the scripture.
During the hottest part of the afternoon campers swim in our beautiful pool! They play games with each other and their counselors and continue building the close knit community Heartland Camp is known for by creating an environment for just plain fun. All swims are staffed with a minimum of two lifeguards. Rules to keep our campers safe are given on Mondays and strictly enforced throughout the week. All campers who wish to swim in the deep end are required to take a “deep end swimming test”, given by the head life guard. There’s no better place to cool off and have a blast than the camp pool!
Slip n’ Slide
Our 100 foot slip n’ slide is sure to make you scream! In the hot afternoons what could be better than sliding in cool water? Placed on a hill in our craft lodge meadow this slip n’ slide is soaped up and hosed down constantly for campers to slip n’ slide to their heart’s content!
Our horse program is designed for riders with little to average experience. Trails vary in terrain and will be selected to give the best ride for your group. Trail rides are generally one hour long. Our wranglers will give a group orientation before the ride and will accompany the group through the ride. We have horses for various riders and our wranglers will work to pair participants with a horse that suits their ability .
*Completed grades K-3rd are lead through their ride with a wrangler walking along side their horse at all times.

Crafts and Activities- For All Ages
Campers are taught to use their hands and their imaginations during craft time in our legendary “Craft Lodge”. Crafts can help enhance the week’s theme and give kids the hands on learning time that they need. Some crafts are group projects and others are created just for the individual. After crafts, campers are able to let out their energy by playing games in our large craft lodge meadow. These activities happen every afternoon for campers of all ages.
High Ropes- “The Summit”:
Reach new heights as you are challenged to overcome barriers on The Summit’s 40 foot tower or zip through the air on our 220 foot zip line! Trained facilitators will customize challenges to meet campers’ needs. The experience can be designed to build self-confidence and awareness, focus on team support, and inclusion. And it’s just plain fun! **All elements are supervised by trained facilitators that follow the highest standards of safety.**

Our Mud pit is...you guessed it... a pit full of mud. And it is AWESOME. Groups will be brought to the mud pit during free time and of course there are always side line seats for those who don't want to get dirty! It's always a great time of screams and laughing.
For All Ages
“Vespers” is Heartland lingo for “Evening Worship”. Each night campers will sit around a campfire singing songs and listening to their camp director’s lesson to help wrap up and teach their lesson for the day. Each “vespers” ends with songs and a snack around the campfire together.
Our sling shot range is full of things that "ping" like license plates, chimes and even an old toilet! Shoot rocks at your chosen mark and listen for the hit! It's a great time to practice your marksmanship and brag on your newly developed sling shot skills!
