First and foremost, thank you for trusting us with your most precious treasures. Our names are Matthew and Michelle Taylor, and we are the directors for Work Camp this year. This week at Work Camp we have been dedicated to various service projects around camp.
Through this, we have grown closer to The Lord and have built lasting relationships throughout our camp family.
Campers are working hard to better camp through many projects. They put a fresh coat of paint on the horse corral and our craft lodge. They are getting trails ready to walk on by clearing them and adding mulch. They are also helping redo all of our tees for the disc golf course.
From the start of Day 1, the campers named their family group the “Shebergedergens” (super random!) and created a funny obsession with sheep sounds (but really just any silly sounds).
Their hard work is paired with good conversation, silly songs, and fellowship that has created one of the most cohesive groups we have ever seen.
Our theme this summer is “Rooted.” We have talked about what it means to be rooted in Jesus as His friend and His student. We have talked about looking for where God reveals Himself to us every day.
We hope to send the students back home on Friday with deep roots based in Christ, that have intertwined with those around them. Most of all, we hope to send them home knowing that Jesus has a love for them that knows no limits.
