#campSTUDIES

This summer our theme was Love Never Fails. We learned about the amazing unceasing love of God through reading the Bible, prayer, worship and community. Our hope is that if anyone who came onto camp remembered nothing else, they would remember that “nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:39. To help remember Gods unceasing love here is a devotional to share with your child.

Read together 1 Corinthians 13:4-7:

Can you share a time where you felt loved? At home? At school? At camp?

What part of that memory can you see in the verse?

Read the verse again, this time changing the word love for your own name.

Is it hard to be loving in each way described in the Bible?

Are any of them harder than the others?

Read the verse one last time, this time changing the word love for God.

Does God love us in a way that is like love you have received from the people closest in to you in your life? What is similar? What is different?

If God is like this, would God ever give up on you or leave you?

God loves us like 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7. With patience and kindness, never giving up. God’s love never fails!
