With a new intern class, the end of our summer season, and the hosting of many events, things for us at Heartland feel busy too!
Reminders of God’s Steadfast Love in Busy Seasons
As you may know, this is the second year of our pumpkin patch/fall festival, Autumn Adventures. In this busy season, Autumn Adventures excites us. Autumn Adventures allows us to share our Creator’s steadfast and unchanging love through God’s creation at Heartland and through our Christ-centered staff. As James 1:17 states, “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.”.
As people attend Autumn Adventures, we hope they find peace and experience a “break from the busy” as they take a moment to enjoy one another, play together, and connect with their God in the beautiful setting of Heartland Center.
What Else Excites us About Autumn Adventures?
#1 Autumn Adventures creates more revenue for the Heartland mission.
Most of us buy pumpkins in the fall. So, why not buy a pumpkin and support one of your favorite KC non-profits? Autumn adventures not only lets us connect with the community in a new way, but it also supports our camping scholarships, retreat center, and more.
#2 Autumn Adventures gives us a new way to share God’s love with our community.
We chose to differentiate Autumn Adventures the same way we decided to differentiate our camping program, with our loving staff. This doesn’t mean we are without cool activities (sunset hayrides, Spooktacular Saturdays, and hatchet throwing, anyone?). Differentiating our program by our loving staff simply means our first priority is loving each person who sets foot on our property well. While Autumn Adventures is a secular event, we hope this place and our people help participants find the peace and love of Jesus Christ.
