Parkville Day Camps
You have never been to a day camp like Heartland Camp’s. We jam pack our days full of awesome activities and have created an environment where campers can grow together as children of God. With our Christ-centered focus, exceptional college age counselors and highly active programming, day campers love the time they spend at Heartland.
In addition to our activities is our morning Bible study and afternoon worship. Our counselors will journey with their small group of campers through a weekly curriculum. We tie in our lessons with crafts and games to encourage our campers to live a Christ-like life.
We believe our best quality is our exceptional summer college age staff. Their love for campers and dedication to helping them understand what living a life for Christ looks like never ceases to amaze us. Our hope is to create a strong foundation for a genuine Christ-centered life. Our trained counselors are positive Christian role models who encourage campers to make the most of their time at Heartland and hold onto the lessons they learned and the friends they made.
Heartland Camp interviews and selects exceptional and qualified Christian young adults who will be camp directors, counselors and other staff (such as horse wranglers or kitchen crew). The camp performs national and local background checks on each applicant, and trains those who are hired for their particular positions. The staff also completes a two week training session. Counselors are at least 18 years old.
All staff are CPR/First Aid trained and certified should any emergency situation arise.
A Typical Day
Our Day Camp is Christ focused and in the outdoors to create an environment where campers develop new skills, gain a sense of independence in a controlled and inclusive environment all while encountering God and having fun. Day Campers will learn to recognize God's spirit and be encouraged in their relationship with God while they learn to work out their faith on their own. A week of Day Camp includes swimming in the pool every day, improving skills in our swimming lesson program, riding a horse through our scenic pastures, getting dirty discovering new things in our creek and screaming as they fly down our 100 ft. slip n’ slide… occasionally covered in shaving cream! And the best part is, there’s a whole lot more.
Still not sure what a day at camp will be like? Try one! We offer a Free Day of Adventure. That's right, we said free!
Day Camp Alphas and Omegas
Register here for a week of Parkville day camp! At Heartland, we believe in small group camping. Each camper is a part of a family group, a small group of 7-14 campers with two of our fabulous counselors. If campers have completed K-3 grade, they will be in one of our Alpha family groups. If campers have completed 4-6 grade, they will be in one of our Omega family groups. Both our Alphas and Omegas will experience swimming in the pool every day, riding a horse through our scenic pastures, hitting new goals at our archery course, and flying down our 100 ft. Slip n’ slide! To give our campers the best immersive faith experience possible, we will differentiate some activities according to age groups such as our morning Bible study and weekly crafts and activities. Our alphas will get to spend the time during morning drop off and afternoon pick up in the upstairs room of Genesis, our recently renovated day camp building, while our Omegas will spend this time in the lower level of Genesis. If you have any questions about this fantastic week of faith adventures.

Day camp leadership
Day camp leadership is for youth who love the high energy adventures of our Parkville day camp program and are seeking to learn Christ-centered leadership skills. This five-day program will grow campers in their faith, lead them to step out of the comfort zone, equip campers with new leadership skills, and have some of our favorite camp activities such as horseback riding, swimming, and archery. Day camp leadership is also the only day camp program where campers will get to reach new heights on our high ropes course as a part of their leadership development.
