There is no doubt that the best part of the Christmas season is celebrating the birth of Jesus. We have an advent blog series to help prepare us for that. The much tougher question would be, what is the second best part of the Christmas season? Presents, reading by the fire, Christmas music, and Hallmark Christmas movies all have a claim on this second spot. Let's be honest those are great, but one tradition rises above the rest, baking Christmas cookies.

Welcome to Advent, a season of waiting. Advent is the season between the Sunday after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. This time of advent is defined as “waiting for someone notable,” and I’d say we’re waiting for someone quite notable.
The 2015 camp season finished with a bang. Well… it was more like Bible studies, songs, games, and lots of fun but you get the idea. Our second annual Winter CamFam reunion was our biggest ever!

The one thing all traditions have in common is that they are a big part of what makes the Christmas season special.
